Great Reference Book for Sinus Sufferers5
The Harvard Guide to Healing Your Sinuses is a valuable resource, which is written in easy-to-understand language that details various sinus conditions, including ones that might seem like sinusitis but are not, and numerous strategies for treating them. In addition, discussions of treatments include helpful thoughts on various methods of sinus surgery, how to prepare for surgery if needed, and what to expect.

I appreciate how, on pages 162-163, Dr. Metson and Mr. Mardon cite empty nose syndrome (ENS) as a "troubling phenomenon," which results from an overly aggressive surgery of the turbinates (inner nasal mucus-producing tissue that performs many critical functions). The description of ENS is accurate, and I am grateful it is noted as a complication of surgery, as not all sinus self-help books acknowledge ENS.

When discussing treatments, The Harvard Guide to Healing Your Sinuses mentions zicam, which is the oral spray form of zinc. The authors note while zinc has been shown to reduce the duration of a cold, particularly when used at the onset of symptoms, it must be sprayed into the nose every four hours for one to two weeks to be effective. A word of caution, though, which also should be highlighted, is that spraying high concentrations of zicam in the nose can lead to burning and destruction of olfactory epithelium, the nerve cells responsible for smell. Consequently, some users of zicam have permanently lost their sense of smell.

This book definitely has much useful information on sinusitis from a highly reputable source. It is a great reference book for sinus sufferers.

Chris Martin, author of Having Nasal Surgery? Don't You Become An Empty Nose Victim!

Don't bother2
This isn't the worst book on sinus infections I've ever encountered. However, it does not hold a candle to Sinus Survival (Ivker), and in fact, when compared, seems wholly inadequate. Don't waste your health here.

Excellent book5
This book is well organized and describes sinus problems from minor to major. Several tables summarize treatment, medications, symtoms, etc. Although fairly technical (that's a good thing) the authors didn't 'talk down' to the layman. I found it very helpful and insightful. The book describes many self-treatments in a very orderly fashion.

The Secret Team: The CIA and Its Allies in Control of the United States and the World by L. Fletcher Prouty

Product Description

"L. Fletcher Prouty is a man whose name will go down in history."—Oliver Stone

The Secret Team, L. Fletcher Prouty's CIA exposé, was first published in the 1970s, but virtually all copies of the book disappeared upon distribution, purchased en masse by shady "private buyers." Certainly Prouty's amazing allegations—that the U-2 Crisis of 1960 was fixed to sabotage Eisenhower_Khrushchev talks, and that President Kennedy was assassinated to keep the U.S., and its defense budget, in Vietnam—cannot have pleased the CIA. Though suppressed (until now), The Secret Team was an important influence for Oliver Stone's Academy Award-winning film JFK and countless other works on U.S. government conspiracies, and it raises the same crucial question today that it did on its first appearance: who, in fact, is in control of the United States and the world?

An Ill-Advised Rewrite of the Best Book Ever
I've been a devout student of Fletcher Prouty for fifteen years. Fletcher Prouty is a hero almost beyond measure in clandestine American history. 'The Secret Team' is and always will be one of the most important books of all time. However, this version is actually a slight rewrite from the original Prentice-Hall/ICHS version; and the incidental changes that have been added to this flawless American classic, I'm sorry to say, make it weaker, not stronger. I'm not saying people shouldn't read Fletcher Prouty; just understand that if you want the original book -- the real Coke rather than the new Coke -- you want to avoid this printing, even though it's available, and even though it's cheap. Some classics are better left alone, and this is one of them.

An Insider's Candid Expose' of the National Security Welfare-Warfare State
As in the case of the brilliant Jules Archer volume, The Plot To Seize The White House, it is terrific to have this masterful study of the inner workings of the early CIA back in print after so many years of unavailability.

Skyhorse Publishing is to be commended in seeing to it that both of these crucial works are again available to the attentive reading public who want to know the truth concerning our dark hidden history that the government has so actively strived to keep buried.

The late Colonel L. Fletcher Prouty served as chief of special operations for the Joint Chiefs of Staff where he was in charge of the global system designed to provide military support for covert activities of the Central Intelligence Agency.

In Oliver Stone's highly acclaimed film on the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, JFK, the mysterious character "X" portrayed by Donald Sutherland was in fact Colonel Prouty, who assisted director Stone in the production and scripting of this historical epic. Prouty had relayed the shocking information detailed in the movie to the actual New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison, played by Kevin Cosner, in a series of communiques.

The Secret Team was first published in 1973 during the Watergate scandal, when many Americans were first learning about the dark side of covert government, an outlaw executive branch headed by a renegade chief of state. Richard Nixon would not be the last of this foul breed.

This was years before Frank Church's Senate Committee's damning revelations of CIA misdeeds and assassination plots against foreign leaders rocked the nation.

In each chapter in his book, Prouty speaks frankly with an insiders knowledge of what he describes as the inner workings of "the Secret Team."

This prudential judgment and keen assessment of the National Security Establishment was gained from years as a behind-the-scenes seasoned professional in military intelligence working intimately with those of the highest rank in policy making and implimentation.

The important story Prouty boldly tells should be read by every reflective American.

Great!
Colonel Prouty's book on the Secret Team should be required reading for all concerned Americans. Herein, the author, a retired Air Force Colonel and CIA insider, reveals for all to see the machinations of the Secret Team and their impact on US history in the post World War II era. This is terribly important information.

I was particularly impressed with Prouty's depiction of Eisenhower's peace initiative and how it was sabatoged by the Secret Team. Ike was preparing for his peace summit with Kruschev when Gary Powers was sent off on his fool's errand on April 30th, 1960, a date with significant occult emblematics. The capture of Powers by the Soviets effectively scuttled the Eisenhower peace plan, which would have ruined the plans of the Secret Team, for continued Cold War tension, and treasure for the merchants of venom.

The essential truths in this important book are still relevant today. Of course, the ineffectual George Walker Bush is not entirely in charge of American foreign policy in this critical time. He is certainly still being manipulated by the sucessors of the Secret Team depicted in this excellent and well written book. Any serious student of American foreign policy in the post World War II era ought to read this important book.

CMOS Memory Circuits by Tegze P. Haraszti

Product Description

CMOS Memory Circuits is a systematic and comprehensive reference work designed to aid in the understanding of CMOS memory circuits, architectures, and design techniques.
CMOS technology is the dominant fabrication method and almost the exclusive choice for semiconductor memory designers.
Both the quantity and the variety of complementary-metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) memories are staggering. CMOS memories are traded as mass-products worldwide and are diversified to satisfy nearly all practical requirements in operational speed, power, size, and environmental tolerance. Without the outstanding speed, power, and packing density characteristics of CMOS memories, neither personal computing, nor space exploration, nor superior defense systems, nor many other feats of human ingenuity could be accomplished. Electronic systems need continuous improvements in speed performance, power consumption, packing density, size, weight, and costs. These needs continue to spur the rapid advancement of CMOS memory processing and circuit technologies.
CMOS Memory Circuits is essential for those who intend to (1) understand, (2) apply, (3) design and (4) develop CMOS memories.

useful topics but poor explanations
This book covers many important concepts in memory circuit design. However it is poorly written and edited which makes it difficult to read. Hence this book is only for the patient reader!

An errata should come with it or be online
This book is the first book dealing with cmos memories comprehensively as we can see from its preface. That's it.
But,in my opinion,it is also the only book i v read that has the highest error ratings.

Look out Robert Anton Wilson! Either David Icke is competing for the "Paranoid of the Decade" award or he knows something the rest of us don't. Icke reveals a sinister web connecting everything from the British royal family to major oil companies, to 33 of the last 40 U.S. presidents, in a global conspiracy masterminded by an interstellar brotherhood vying for planetary control through the manipulation of humanity's very way of life. Icke digs into every facet of contemporary society to expose the invisible horror lurking beneath the calm veneer of everyday life. In the process he gets downright offensive, knocking everything from Judaism to the Denver airport. Even if you can't swallow Icke's distasteful revelations or follow every step of his labyrinthine conspiracy theories, The Biggest Secret is sure to forever change the way you look at the Amoco oil logo. --Brian Patterson

Food for much thought4
The most informative book I have ever read, on the subject(s) of, world-power, extraterrestials, conspiracy etc.
David Icke has to be admired for his exhaustive researches.
He not only states something, he also backs it up. This is what makes this book so very intriguing. You can't just say:' No way.. balogna.." because of the researched facts he has.
One glaring error that I can see is,his inability to see the power of the hand of the creator, in all of this. Even though he quotes the bible often, it is not done in correct perspective, or contextual.
In fact, if anything at all, this book literally drives you into the hands of your Creator, because as David so excellently shows you, there is no way out, no where.. ever !
In this context.. life would make no sense at all.. but it would be a random and meaningless existance we all live in.
As for me.. this excellently written, fascinating book.. has driven me even closer into the hands of my God and Creator !

THIS IS FOR THE PEEPS THAT ARE AWARE THAT SOMETHING IS REALLY GOING ON BUT ARE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE HECK IS IT...5
THIS BOOK CONTAINS TONS OF INFO. SOME WILL JUST STRAIGHT OUT BLOW YOU AWAY. IF YOU ARE REALLY INTO MYSTERIES, WELL LOOK NO FURTHER. NOTHING IS THE MOST INTERESTING MYSTERY THAN FIGURING OUT WHERE DO WE COME FROM, ARE THE RELIGION FAITHS REAL OR MANUFACTURED?.. WELL EVER SINCE I WAS YOUNG I NOTICED ALOT OF THINGS DID NOT ADD UP. SO NOW I AM FULLY AWARE THAT I AM A CONSCIOUS PERSON THANKS TO THE SYNCHRONOCITY OF HOW ALL THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION CAME TO MY WORLD. AT THE END WHAT MATTERS MOST IS WHAT YOU TRUTHFULLY BELIVE IN YOUR SELF TO BE RIGHT.

Dick Cheney and Barack Obama are cousins...read this book5
Ok. Wow. I picked up this book by chance and must say I can never watch the news the same way again. Whether you believe what he has to say or not it's worth the thought....some of the things make sense and ring true, some I've heard from other sources, but whether you look at this as good X-files type conspiracy reading or truth it's worth the read. It isn't always well organized, and could have been made shorter.

Think about this....Mr. Icke talks about how the world is always governed by a few...a family...like when he points out-with family trees, mind you-- the familial relationship betweeen the Bushs and the British royal family.....then years later the things he says always ring true when I watch the news....things like Dick Cheney and Barack Obama being distant cousins...so is it a big secret? The Bushs seem like reptiles to me!

Or how about pointing out the obvious like who benefits and collects the interest on our National Debt? We all complain about it, but who is silently getting rich on our misery?

Just try to not get trapped in fearful or negative places as you read this...because if it's true it's pretty scary. The scary part is that alot of it makes logical sense. Yikes.

Guide for any Engineering Student.
This handbook is a must have for any junior level or higher engineering major or any major that deals with advanced mathematics. It contains detailed and easy to understand charts and tables ranging from College Algebra and Trigonometry to Advanced Calculus and Differential Equations. It is also a must have reference book to anyone needing to access to advanced mathematics formulas.

Excellent Text for Undergrads or Grads
This book has everything in it as far as formulas. If you are looking for examples, this is not the book for you. I had some difficulty remembering Integration by Parts for my current Grad class. This book helped out. It also helps out for all those pesty integrals and derivatives as well. I've been using this book for 2 months in my classes. Although I don't always use it, I never leave home without it.

Also covers Taylor and Fourier Series, Laplace Transforms, Statistics, and other stuff as an engineer I've never had to learn and never plan to. ;)

Mathematical Handbook of Formulas and Tables
A very useful book that gathers all the mathmatical formals 'as the title states. As an Engineering Student it is very helpful to have everything in one text instead of getting your old books and digging through them to find them.

Amazon.com
Few of us are natural-born leaders, according to John C. Maxwell, author of Developing the Leader Within You. Fortunately though, "the traits that are the raw material of leadership can be acquired," he promises. "Link them up with desire and nothing can keep you from becoming a leader. This book will supply the leadership principles. You must supply the desire." True to his words, Maxwell offers a detailed and inspiring primer on becoming a leader. Even the Table of Contents reads like a motivational poster.

Maxwell (The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader), who is the founder of INJOY, a Christian-based leadership program, debunks the myth that strong leaders must have big egos and spend all their time harnessing personal power. Instead, he elevates leadership to a spiritual act of service: "The growth and development of people is the highest calling of leadership." Maxwell relies on real-life anecdotes, short paragraphs, charts, and numerous lists to make his wisdom accessible. As a result, his writing often seems simplistic, with a self-help tone. Nonetheless, in teaching readers how to bring out the best in themselves as well as others, Maxwell offers a worthwhile life lesson that extends far beyond the workplace. --Gail Hudson
Customer Reviews

A great book for beginners in Leadership
Written by Lynnette Haygood because I was unable to list review under my own account. I found John Maxwell's book "Developing the Leader Within You" a very helpful tool for anyone interested in developing personal leadership skills or trying to bring out the leaders in their employees. Being new to the studying of leadership roles I found Maxwell's concept of everything rises and falls on leadership to be extremely true. I personally feel that this book is going to be a great tool in my future success in the business world. I have always considered myself to be a leader, in every position that I have been in I have always been considered a "go to" person, but always struggled with obtaining that management position. I am currently struggling with the next step in my career as a college student that has years of experience in the same field with the same position. Throughout my reading of Maxwell's book I started to learn valuable lesson in the difference between leaders and managers. I have been able to evaluate more clearly the types of managers that I have had, and have came to the conclusion that I have not had many leaders in my life who have been able to assist me with growing my own leadership abilities. I really enjoyed the way that Maxwell was able to clearly relate his knowledge and experience to real life situations that allowed me to grasp his concepts much easier. I especially could relate to the analogy that he gave in regards to the Sandhill cranes and their distinct leadership qualities and how they rotate leadership, and choose leaders who are able to handle the turbulence and how they all support the leader by honking in affirmation. After reading this book I am particularly excited to take my turn as the leader instead of constantly "honking in affirmation". Great book!

Timeless message locked inside an older technology
The leadership principles from John Maxwell are timeless and always work to bring greater insight and rapid change for people who want to rise to a new level of leading others. I wore out my cassette tape player listening to Dr. Maxwell's leadership resources, (at least :15 minutes a day for years), because I realized they were so practical and useful to 'move to the front of the line' as a stronger leader in my personal and professional life. If you want to grow stronger as a leader, John Maxwell can take you there faster than you ever thought possible. Listening to John personally coach you, (he always does his own audio presentations), with enthusiasm and power in his voice will encourage, equip and empower you to achieve greater success.

THE Classic Leadership Book
Powerful Attitudes

John Maxwell has outlined the specific traits on what is required to be an effective leader. He then gives you the step by step instruction on how to acquire and adapt those traits. If you read and study leadership, this is book is a must read.

Discrete Mathematics and its Applications by Kenneth H. Rosen

Product Description

This text is designed for the sophomore/junior level introduction to discrete mathematics taken by students preparing for future coursework in areas such as math, computer science and engineering. Rosen has become a bestseller largely due to how effectively it addresses the main portion of the discrete market, which is typically characterized as the mid to upper level in rigor. The strength of Rosen's approach has been the effective balance of theory with relevant applications, as well as the overall comprehensive nature of the topic coverage.

The author is difficult to follow
I would NOT reccoment this text for anyone that is returning to school after being away for any length of time. It is the reccomended text of the class I am currently taking, over half of the students are having difficulties with this book and are purchasing additional text to supplement the lessons.

Great buy
Purchased for computer science course since it was required. Great price, good book.

A good book
I like this book and use it for teaching my students. As a teacher, you have the opportunity to select similar problems for class activity and homework assignment. Also, you can find not only simple and middle-level problems but also high-level problems to provide a good source for active students. Unfortunately, the author uses the letters "F" and "T" in the truth tables instead of much easier and perspective "0" and "1", which correspond to the real needs, e.g., in computer science. That's the most essential lack, which I've found by this time.

A decent book, just not for the CCIE lab4
CiscoPress's "Troubleshooting IP Routing Protocols" by Shamim, Azis, Liu and Martey is mislabeled. CiscoPress has labeled this book as part of their `CCIE Professional Development' series - I really do not see the value of placing this book in the same vein as other CCIE books in the series (such as Doyle, Solie, & Clark). However, having been employed as a Network Administrator for a number of years, the book does help troubleshoot and isolate routing protocol issues.

Each major IGP (RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF & IS-IS) along with PIM and BGP is discussed at depth. Each routing protocol is dedicated 2 chapters - one chapter discussing the protocol and one chapter discussing troubleshooting methodologies. The troubleshooting chapters start out with flow charts that can help isolate the issue. Too be honest though, the flow-charts are lacking in depth, and I found only helped verify simple routing issues. The book is also missing a much needed chapter on route redistribution.

There are not that many typos in the book. I give this book four stars as it takes a unique approach to troubleshooting routing protocol issues. However, I fail to find the reason this book needs to be on a CCIE's bookshelf.

I give this book 4 pings out of 5:
!!!.!

Good book on IP routing troubleshooting.5
This book is so far is the best out there on troubleshooting IP routing protocols. If you want to learn the theory behind each modern routing protocol (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP), and therefore spend less time on troubleshooting in the first place, check out "Cisco IOS for IP Routing" by Andrew Colton. These two together should take you a long way to a good understaning of Cisco IP routing.

Simply the Best!5
Absolutly the best book on the topic. Authors, thank you for making my troubleshooting life easier!!
