About the Author: Emily Spinelli

Emily Spinelli received her Ph.D. in Spanish from Ohio State University where she studied Spanish language and Hispanic literature and culture and was exposed to foreign language education and second language acquisition theory. Currently she is Professor of Spanish at the University of Michigan-Dearborn where she teaches courses in all levels of Spanish language, literature, language of business, as well as culture and civilization. She also coordinates the foreign language teacher certification program and teaches courses in foreign language methodology. In addition to her textbooks, she has also published many articles and reviews in scholarly journals. She is a frequent speaker and presenter at local, state, and national conferences and has consulted with school districts and universities throughout the country on issues related to foreign language education and methodology. She has been very active in professional organizations having served on numerous boards and committees as well as the 1999 President of ACTFL and the 2004 President of the AATSP. She is currently the editor of the Foreign Language Annals. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.
